HD Downhole Camera Inspections
See exactly what's happening inside your well — crystal-clear video from up to 6,500 feet below the surface.
What You Get:
What Is a Downhole Camera Inspection?
A downhole camera inspection is exactly what it sounds like: we lower a high-definition video camera into your well and record everything it sees. You watch the live video feed on a surface monitor as our camera travels down the wellbore, showing you the actual condition of your casing, screens, perforations, and anything else inside the well.
This is the most direct way to diagnose well problems. Instead of guessing what might be wrong based on indirect data, you see it with your own eyes.
When Do You Need a Camera Inspection?
If your well is producing less than it should, pulling sand, delivering poor water quality, or has stopped working altogether, a camera inspection reveals the cause. Common situations where clients call us:
- Sudden drop in well production or water output
- Sand or sediment appearing in produced water
- Suspected casing damage or failure
- Pre-purchase inspection of an existing well
- Routine maintenance and condition monitoring
- Investigating a workover before committing to expensive repairs
- Regulatory compliance inspections
Our Camera Technology
GeoCam Inc. deploys industry-leading HD camera systems with full 360-degree viewing capability and adjustable high-intensity LED lighting. The cameras adapt to varying fluid conditions, delivering sharp images whether the well is air-filled, clear water, or slightly turbid.
We carry two camera sizes:
- 2-inch diameter camera — fits smaller monitoring wells, tight casings, and wells with reduced internal diameter from scale buildup.
- 4-inch diameter camera — provides enhanced imaging in larger production wells, water supply wells, and open boreholes where greater field of view matters.
What Our Cameras Detect
A single camera run can identify a wide range of issues:
- Casing cracks, holes, and deformations — structural failures that cause water intrusion or loss of well control.
- Plugged or offset perforations — verify that perforations are open and aligned to maximize production.
- Mineral incrustation and scale — calcium carbonate, iron oxide, and other deposits restricting flow.
- Bacterial buildup — iron bacteria, sulfate-reducing bacteria, and biofilm that degrade water quality.
- Improper gravel packing — voids or bridging that compromise sand control.
- Sand bridges and debris — obstructions from formation sand, dropped tools, or other materials.
- Corrosion damage — assess severity and plan rehabilitation or replacement.
- Deformed casings — compression or buckling from external pressure or subsidence.
How It Works
Our field engineer arrives at your well site with a fully equipped service truck. The camera is lowered into the wellbore on a wireline cable while real-time video streams to a surface monitor where both you and our engineer can watch conditions together. The entire inspection is recorded in HD.
After the inspection, our engineer gives you a preliminary assessment of findings, followed by delivery of the complete video recording. A detailed written report is available on request.
Industries We Serve
- Oil & gas — production well troubleshooting, casing integrity, workover planning.
- Water wells — municipal and private water supply inspections, screen condition assessment.
- Environmental — monitoring well integrity, contamination pathway investigation.
- Geotechnical — borehole condition assessment, grout verification.
